Adventurers: Good-Guys for Hire
These are the first four chapters of the novel I am currently writing. These are very much works in progress; and any feedback is appreciated. Since I think all the typos have been found by now, I am looking for various opinions on the setup, scenes and characters!

The MuggerIn the Big Apple, muggings were a mundane fact of life. It was a rite of passage for every New Yorker, a hurdle that shaped character and wisened up even the most naive souls. But who provided that service to people? People like Barry, that's who. Barry loved stealing from people, not just for the surprise of seeing what he would find in each wallet and purse, but for the sheer thrill of it. He didn't use an actual gun, oh no. That would make it too easy. He only pretended to have a gun inside his jacket pocket. Every time he slipped into the shadows, leaving people quaking in fear over a bluff, he could not help breaking out into a huge grin over his own craftiness.
