Yep, yep, the deadline for my contest has passed. Now comes the hard part, picking a winner. I need a couple days to ponder, but I'll make an announcement by the end of the weekend. I want to give a most heartfelt thank-you to the people who appreciated by writing enough to enter. It really means a lot to see my work going over to well.

Well, maybe it was Ami who went over. She surprised me with her popularity.

I should have posted this announcement yesterday, but Amazing Spider-man 2 left me traumatized. The death of (not-spoiler) Gwen Stacy is one thing on paper, but in live-action is is extremely brutal. It would have been easier to take of the rest of the movie was good, but its entire execution was off. The music was terrible. The pacing was extremely cockeyed. Peter and Gwen’s on-again-off-again putzing around relationship felt tedious by the first breakup. Even so, I liked Gwen, and her death left me shellshocked by the end of the movie. Green Goblin showed up out of nowhere just to kill her. We didn’t get anything establishing his menace. Just zoom in, scream, snatch, CRACK.
