While I've been working at my aunt's I've had access to Netflix. Even though I own the DVDs for Beast Wars, they've been locked away in storage for some time, so I decided to watch a few episodes this morning while I worked. "Dark Designs" was one of the episodes that came on, and for some reason Netflix's caption writers thought Waspinator's line, "The idiot does not respond. The idiot is comatose," was actually "The idiot does not respond. The idiot is trauma-toast." I am going to have to use "trauma-toast" in one of my own works someday.

In other news, it was just announced that Mike Costa is coming to Phoenix Comicon. Mike Costa, one of the worst ever writers of modern Transformers comics. (McCarthy was terrible too, but at least he understood the concept of "characterization.") Not only were his comics objectively terrible, but he insulted both the franchise and the fandom on his way out so bad that even the editor in chief condemned him. Just look at his wiki page.

Right after the first issue of his ongoing came out, which was objectively terrible, I asked him a question on it, and he dismissed my criticism as being ignorant because I've only read one issue. So he expected the audience to keep investing money on something before they could form an opinion, because god forbid it's the WRITER'S job to win an audience. He also had the gall to draw a comparison to Moby Dick, saying that the whale doesn't even show up til the last chapter. Thus also showing his ignorance of classic literature: the point of the book is not the whale, but one man's obsession with it.

It's going to take literally every ounce of my willpower to not flip him off at any point that weekend.

:XD: I got a good laugh over trauma-toast. (Although, from what I understand, computers do a lot of the subtitling nowadays. It may be the computer's fault.) Trauma-toast... :giggle:

Wow, I finally read the highlights of Costa's interview and what a class act he is. There are many fan fiction writers here that have a better grasp of Transformers and their personalities/motivations than he ever did. :grump: If your willpower slips, flip him off for me too.
